As a mom of 3, I have a lot of things to keep track of—though perhaps that’s an understatement. When I first had my kids, even getting out the door to the grocery store felt impossible.

I’d do my best to get ready and throw a diaper bag in the car, but no matter what I needed, it was always lost somewhere in the void. I’d have to dump the whole thing out to find it. 

I tried different diaper bags, but nothing helped. Everything seemed equally disorganized, despite ads promising me a thousand pockets and an easy life. 

So, somewhere between my 4th cup of coffee and my 5th midnight wakeup, I thought of Fledgling. 

I wanted a diaper bag that fixed every single problem I had with the myriad of other bags I tried to use.

I wanted a bag where everything I packed was exactly where I left it. I wanted a bag that could grow with my family, that could still be used after my kids were out of the baby stage. I wanted something stylish and durable, that even adults could use on a vacation abroad. 

Initially, I designed fledgling just for myself. But then, people started noticing it, and asking where they could get one! So, I decided to pursue commercial development.

After building some prototypes, I was fortunate enough to connect with Motives International—the makers of S.O.W.  and Enlightened Generation kids’ clothes. They understood my vision, and were generous enough to connect me with an ethical factory in their network who could build Fledgling. I’ve spent the past few years fine tuning the design with my factory and test team, making sure that the quality, design, and durability was exactly what I envisioned. 

And finally, we’re ready for launch. Our first batch has finished production, and we anticipate shipping our first batch to customers in June 2026.

I’m beyond thrilled to have successfully created and brought Fledgling to market, and I hope you get as much utility and enjoyment out of using it as I do. And of course, feel free to reach out with any feedback—we always want to hear from our customers with your valuable comments.
